This is the memorial on Seawall Blvd. in memory of the thousands killed during the 1900 hurricane in Galveston.
The concrete walks were damaged and the blocks of granite you see were thrown around by the water force.
The cool thing is the statue was untouched. Amazing
Now for the after photo thanks to Michael McBride just hours after the hurricane.

This is a picture of the levy gates crossing Highway 365 around the northwest side of Port Arthur, Texas.
The levy is 15 feet high, and that is the highway on the lower right side. this was Saturday after the storm.

brown because of having so much salt water over the island.
Look how this cap stone was moved off center. It is very heavy but the water was very powerful.
